Join us this Wednesday at our Austin location, 452 W. 2nd street at 6 pm for Impact Austin’s membership event! Impact Austin is a women’s organization devoted to raising money to donate to worthy benefactors. Each member’s voice and opinion is considered carefully when making decisions about who to give Impact Austin’s sought after grants to. Applications are accepted from areas organizations working with education, environment, family wellness, culture and health. Over $100,000 in grants are given out annually to organizations that are deemed worthy by the members. The goal is to inspire women to help to transform themselves and the world around them through community building and advancement.

2011′s grant recipients were mostly centered around child development. This included Paramount and State Theaters “Literacy to Life” project, which is an eight week workshop for 3rd and 4th graders that is devoted to helping students to develop their writing skills and imaginations. Another recipient, the Texas Advocacy Project, received funding for their “Protective Order Project”, that helps victims of domestic violence attain legal advice and protective orders against their abusers to aid them in escaping their situations. These and many other organizations have benefited greatly from Impact Austin! Sikara is proud to be hosting the event! See you Wednesday!
